So, this guy had liked me for three years. We decided to start dating recently, since I FINALLY realized my feelings. When he went to ask his parents for permission, they said no, he would not be dating me... because I'm white. I'm not a suitable choice as dating material (they don't want mixed race grandchildren), and would rather that he date and marry within his race and culture. I'm so torn up right now I could just disappear. I've been crying for two hours (longer than I've cried in months), and I believe this experience will ruin our friendship because I am also now apparently untrustworthy and possibly forbidden from his life. And all I can wonder is what I did to deserve this fate, and why the fuck it had to be like this, when nobody else would ever be stupid enough to like me in that way.

EDIT: I'm officially banned from the guy's life. His parents have put a lock on his cellphone and his facebook, and any other such resources where he could contact me. He's not allowed to speak to me or to see me, and I'm sure there's no 'just friends' option.
